There are a few designers that stand out in my memory from my childhood.I started paying attention to fashion early on... I remember Isabel Toledo making her debut in 1985, with coverage on CNN´s Style With Elsa Klensch, I remembe Koji Tatsuno´s fantastical creations, and another name that is etched in my memory is Jesus del Pozo. So I was excited to see his collection, which opened the 51st edition of Cibeles Fashion Week - I hadn´t followed his work for years... for some reason it had seemingly dropped off the international radar. A shame, since del Pozo´s work is as compelling as it used to be. A master colorist, he sent out seasonal shades of burnt orange, rust, grey and brown, punctuated by bright pops of blue and red. His choice of textured fabrics were supremely elegant, without sacrificing interest. And his strongest point remains his precision technique, equally dexterous with draping and tailoring ".
